John Applebloom (verified owner) –
Orientals are a hit-and-miss for me – some I love (Egoist, Musc Ravageur, etc) while others leave me cold with their straightforwardness (gasp – Angel).
Pardon is luckily a hit – what I smell is an intense chocolate accord which is phenomenally tenacious and delicious. The combination of woods (from sandalwood molecules to strong ambers) with patchouli and flowers which soften the whole composition, make Pardon somewhat of an oddity in the Nasomatto portfolio – while others from the range tend to be odd, this is not odd – this is simply delicious.
Experimental idea here would be replace the patchouli oil (huge chunk) with patchoulol or with clearwood – both offer a more refined quality to patchouli.
A great informative formula!
