This is great! Even though I was missing a few compounds and had to make some substitutions, I found this strikingly close to the original, and it brought up great memories of early explorations of Lutens’ line. Even with only a short amount of time for it to come together, the likeness is uncanny–excited to see how it develops as it macerates further.

When I first mixed this formula, i was a little surprised as it was missing to me the fruitiness of the original. I fell in love with Daim Blond back when it was released and I remember it as a candied fruity smooth leather peach skin. This formula had the balance of leather and fruit reversed to my nose with the leather aspect being more dominant than the fruit and peach skin. That was my first impression particularly when smelling the undiluted mix. I gave a proper wear to this a few weeks ago and a few days ago again in a diluted concentration and then I saw the light and the balance being shifted to from the leather to the fruit. My memory could be a bit misguided still thinking that the fruit needs to be a still a little more prominent but I am already more confident that this is a good formula.
