It’s a close rendition, it’s just missing some juicy fruit top notes, I’ve tried a few acetates but hanvet found the right materail yet. The original opens with a very “acetone” sweet, juicy fruity note which isn’t in this rendition unfortunately.

Also some sweetness, which i think is apart of the juicy fruit note, the dry down on the original is very sweet, even the next day the drydown is sweet, this rendition is dry and lacks sweetness

After revisiting this many months after maturing, I realize it vaguely resembles black aoud, in fact I think this formula may not be Black Aoud at all, but something similar. Way to much IBQ either way, I’d omit it completely, tone down some other materials as well. You’re left with a nice Middle Eastern rose / patchouli / oud, but it’s not Montale Black Aoud at all.
