Another great, accurate rendition of a (now discontinued!) scent. Interested to see how the lavender EO is boosted by some additional synthetic components of lavender EO, but I was surprised there wasn’t necessarily a huge amount, percentage-wise of the usual suspects (iso e super, hedione). The proportions of lavender harmonize so well with vanilla and tonka-type materials and a couple of unexpected, somewhat fruity aromachemicals that I, of course, smell in this scent now that I see them there. Wonderfully put together formula!

While lavender generally pairs well with herbal and vanillin accords (see the usual suspects here – Jicky, Caron Pour un Homme), there are still things to be said about it. What was very surprising to me here was how the concentrate smelled thick, and liquor-y, but when diluted and sprayed, the formula transforms into something closer to the licorice and herbals Absinth-y promise of its name. Is it a taste of ‘heaven’? I am not so sure – I do find the name to be a mismatch. But I do appreciate the transformation of lavender from a mere garden herb to a glorified bouquet – as it deserves.
