A very bizarre leather – you would have expected something intense and bitter but you get a huge doze of fruity ethyl vanillin. What is so well-done here is that you cannot tell it is ethyl vanillin – it is a smooth transparently fruity juice which has ‘the idea’ of leather but none of the typical leather molecules. It is an unexpected perfume for sure and while it doesn’t evoke adventures to my nose, it is how a goody gourmand perfume can be made elegant (as opposed to all others which tend to be trashy). Beautiful! (Formula requires a lot of patience to mix)

I was a big fan of this unconventional leather when it came out and was sad it was discontinued. This formula is a great approximation of the original, even with some substitutions I had to make. So interesting how these ingredients create a texturally rich, sweet, fruity leather, even in the absence of much in the way of traditional “leathery” ingredients. Well done!
