Well that’s an odd Biest! As a disclaimer – I did not know the original before buying this formula but was too curious as I love leathers that are not sweet (see Rose & Cuir). This is a very raw leather which has a huge chunk of the inky quinolin (which is even questionably high when one considers IFRA regulations), a woody amber, and musks. As such it is in the same category as some Nasomatto fragrances – thick, opaque, and challenging. I prefer the transparency, bitterness, and inclines of Rose&Cuir to this but Cuoium is definitely something I like more than Tuscan Leather or Ombré leather. Good for learning.
