I’m continuing to learn about Oud – not my favourite note / genre in the perfume world and so I am difficult to please. But when I learnt that this is a Domonique Ropion composition, I wanted to try it out. I have not smelled the original but judging on this formula it is a very pleasant woody oud. Reminiscent to M7 by YSL which is something I do wear from time to time. It is a mixture of balsams and dried fruits with relative sweeness but not intense. And a significant difference to other ouds which tend to be bitter relying on very heavy sandalwood and amber chemicals. This is elegant and balanced the way you would expect it from Ropion and Chopard. Very good thing.
