I was in my late teens when this came out and at that time I was living in a country that didn’t import Malle. I do remember getting a sample via an exchange from Perfume of Life forum members and I wore this on very special occasions. These memories came rushing in when I mixed this and although it took me several tries especially as I was missing one of the key trace ingredients (phenylethyl phenylacetate), I was determined to get those memories back. I have in front of me now 4 variations based off this formula and clearly they are related to that memory but it is still blurry. It is unclear if it is the fault of the memory and hte years that have passed since (20) or the formula is missing something but the search will continue.

Not having smelled the original, but upon mixing and mascerating , its a very nice perfume and a musk lovers delight.

Tried this formula before purchasing any more as I wasn’t sure of the quality. Very pleased with the results as it is very close to the original. Needed a few tweaks to get my materials to the levels of the original (especially in the top notes) but is worth purchasing if you love the original fragrance.

Not bad, was trying to recreate this for weeks on end, and would not get the top notes right so decided to end the misery and see how close I got. Definitely learned a lot from the formula, however, I think animalic aspect is missing there. I have an old sample of Musc Ravageur, and it definitely has some type of animalic material (I used traces of Castoreum and Shangralide). But after some research on the perfume it seems they have reformulated the fragrance, would not be surprised if they have taken it out as most people would not like the animalic aspect anyways. Otherwise, happy with the purchase, a great learning experience.
