John Applebloom (verified owner) –
One of the older perfumes in the range (fundamentals) which has its popular following but also many people view as being bland and uninteresting. I disagree – it is a gentle iris scent that is different from other takes on iris in that it is not powedery but rather deeply woody almost to the point of feeling like aluminum or even titanium in texture. What contributes to this is a huge chunk of cedarwood which is blended very well and does not drag the whole perfume down. On top of that, you have a wonderful contribution of carrot seed (famously used in large portion for the first and possibly last time here) which brings in the texture and makes this iris more earthy than without it. And that is filled beautifully by aromachemicals of the iris family including alpha irone – an expensive synthetic. Great formula – perfect reproduction!
